Hike high above one of the world's most scenic paths along a photographer's dream route. With steep mountain faces above each corner and sheer cliff drops down below, the views of the Atlantic, Hout Bay, the sentinel and surrounding coastal mountain range.
Starting at the Hout Bay side of Chapman's Peak Drive, we begin by ascending the ravine towards the first plateau. Soon after this, we reach a counter path crossroad with options to travel through to Blackburn Ravine, the Manganese Mines or Silvermine Nature Reserve.
We however head south, traveling past Lower Chapman's Peak, as we start to access prime views of the increasingly steep, cliffed coastline hugging the Atlantic Ocean. We then make our way through the final short scramble to complete the summit of Chapman's Peak. Greeted by 360 degree views from Hout Bay's sentinel, the faint glimmer marking Kommetjie's distant lighthouse and Noordhoek with its impressive surrounding mountain range.
