Join us as we explore another hidden gem on Table Mountain. Adventuring through the impressive labrynth of cracks, folds and tunnels of Valkyn Labyrinth.
Starting at Theresa Avenue we immediately make our way onto the Pipe Track towards the start of our ascent through the Diagonal Route Path. Zig-zagging until we're below Daigonal Cave, rounding the buttress until we are in Porcupine Ravine.
We navigate through the ravine for roughly two thirds of the way, taking in unique views of the bay beneath us. Before leaving the ravine and making our way across to the Jubilee Buttress traverse. We make sure to look behind us, as we slowly gain views of the back of the cable station, with Fountain Ledges and Grotto Fountain Traverse below.
The traverse takes us across Jubilee Ravine, which soon takes our route to the final climb summiting via Barrier Ravine. Once we summit, before heading below into Valley of the Red Gods, we climb up towards Valkyn Buttress. We enter into the intricate mazing system of folds and caverns that Valkyn Labyrinth has to offer. This marks our final stop for a bit of exploring and taking in the breathtaking views.
Making our way past Table Mountain's famous "diving board", we descend via the ever popular Kasteelspoort. Which also marked the route for the old cableway, with many remnants of the historical cable system still visible. Nearing the end of our descent, we take one last pitstop at Breakfast Rock, before joining up with the Pipe Track and completing our loop towards our end point.
